Safe Connect Overview

MCG has implemented a secure wireless network for authorized campus personnel that will be safe from the Internet prowler trying to steal passwords, sensitive, or confidential data.

The public wireless network will remain available for students, vendors, visitors and others for Internet access only.

Unsecured (Open) Wireless

  • Vulnerable to intruders unless the application, web page, or network is encrypted.
  • Unprotected computer devices can spread viruses, worms, and other destructive applications like web robots (a.k.a. bots).

Secure Wireless

  • Encrypted (making the data unreadable by unauthorized devices, applications, or personnel).
  • Only authorized users can access - those with an MCG netID
  • Microsoft Windows devices are inspected for critical patches automatic update configuration.

Wireless Locations
We have wireless network access in virtually all of our campus buildings.

If you are wireless user and require access to Intranet resources, contact the IT Service Desk for assistance in converting your device to this secure network, call ext. 1-4000, e-mail .

You may also visit the Service Desk in person on the first floor of the Greenblatt Library.

Monday - Thursday 7:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Friday 7:30 a.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Saturday Noon - 4:00 p.m.
Sunday 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
