Having been exposed to the world of government service during his father's career as a US Congressman, Bryan Ginn was ready to devote his own life to public service by the time he graduated from Georgia Southern University in 1987.

He worked for several prominent state and US politicians before running unsuccessfully for a US Congressional seat at age 28. The loss inspired him to seek new challenges, leading to academic administration.

He served at Georgia Southern University until 1998, when he accepted a position at Kennesaw State University. His experience at Kennesaw as Director of State and Local Relations and Assistant to the Vice President of University Advancement prepared him to take on his role at MCG.
