
The Division of University Advancement supports the MCG mission by developing lasting, mutually-beneficial relationships with internal and external communities. Offices within the division focus on Alumni relations, government relations, development of private funding, marketing and communications, media relations and special events.
MCG School of Medicine Expansion The state of Georgia needs more physicians to help meet the health care needs of its rapidly expanding and aging population. As Georgia's only public medical school, the Medical College of Georgia School of Medicine is working diligently to address the need with a strategic plan that has quality education at its core. School of Dentistry building on priority listA new building for the MCG School of Dentistry could come sooner than originally thought if a recommendation by the University System of Georgia Board of Regents is approved by the state legislature.
A new priority plan presented at a June 6 board meeting recommends that the university receive $5 million to plan the new building. This is one of seven projects identified as a high priority for the university system and the state of Georgia. Board members will vote on the list in August and present it to Gov. Sonny Perdue for inclusion in the 2008 state budget. [Click here for complete story.]
