Brant and Leanne Kersey now have two wonderful children.
Will, born in 1999, just before graduation, and Emily, born July 20, 2001,
who shares her mother's date of birth.
Dr. Richard J. Harp ('98)
Cherry Hill, N.J., is a surgical resident at the Hospital
of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. His son, Ryan Christopher,
was born April 15. He weighed 8 lbs. and 15 oz. and was 21 inches long.
He was welcomed home by brother Cole, 2.
Dr. Ryan Walley ('98)
03/27/2003 - Ryan Walley, M.D. ('98) and Susan Chu
Walley, M.D. ('00) are pleased to announce the birth of their son, Tyler
JuYoung Walley, on March 5, 2003.
Married Susan Chu, a fourth-year medical student at MCG, March 4. Ryan is a second-year resident in the MCG Department of Pediatrics. His wife will begin pediatrics training at the University of Alabama, Birmingham, in July.
Drs. Erica Peters ('97) and David Seidel ('96)
were married Aug. 30, 1998 in Cincinnati. Erica is in her
last year of residency in internal medicine at University Hospital, and
David is a board certified internist, practicing with Alliance Primary
Care, both in Cincinnati.
Dr. Matthew G. Erickson ('96)
Dr. Erickson recently completed Internal Medicine Residency
and Infectious Disease Fellowship at the University of Wisconsin, in Madison,
Wisconsin. At present, he is doing research at UW on the molecular aspects
of antibiotic resistance.
Dr. Jonathan P. Wright ('96)
I completed my residency in anesthesia at the University
of Alabama at Birmingham in June 2002. I am now practicing in Greenville,
SC with Greenville Anesthesiology, PA at Greenville Memorial Hospital
with my MCG classmate Dr. Trevor K. Smith.
Dr. Thomas Sachy ('95)
Has completed a fellowship in behavioral neurology and a
psychiatry residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston
and is completing a fellowship in forensic psychiatry at Emory University
in Atlanta. His wife, Melissa Sims (M.D., '94)
has also just completed a pathology residency at MUSC and is doing a fellowship
in forensic pathology.
Dr. Michael Shin ('93)
River Edge, NJ, is board certified in anesthesiology and
practices at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Dean Broome ('92)
Has joined the Backus Children's Hospital at Memorial Health
University Medical Center in Savannah, Ga., as the hospital's first pediatric
endocrinologist.
Dr. Bruce Cohen (’91)
Charlotte, N.C., has joined Miller Orthopedic Clinic as
a physician in the Foot and Ankle Center. He completed his internship
and residency at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte and foot and ankle
surgery fellowships at the Medical College of Wisconsin and the American
Sports Institute in Birmingham, Ala. He is director of the Foot and Ankle
Fellowship Program at the Miller Orthopedic Clinic and is certified by
the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and the National Board of Medical
Examiners.
Dr. Mark J. Quarterman ('91)
Anderson, S.C., Mark and Tricia announce
the birth of their second daughter, Christina Lynn, Dec. 2. She joins
her sister Laura Elizabeth.
Dr. Jeffrey Rawlings (’91)
Thomasville, Ga., has joined Southeastern Plastic Surgery
in Tallahassee, Fla. The practice includes cosmetic, reconstructive and
skin-care services. Dr. Rawlings, who also completed general surgery and
plastic surgery residencies at MCG, is certified by the American Board
of Surgery and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He received additional
training in the Advanced Aesthetic and Reconstructive Plastic Surgery
Fellowship Program at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Ariz. He and his
wife, Dr. Lisa Hospodar Rawlings (’91), have two children, Jake and Emily.
Dr. Mary Alice Barrow Llera ('90)
Ashland, KY., married Dr. Rene Antonio Llera July 10, 2000 at the Grand Hotel, Mackinaw Island, Mich. She practices internal medicine at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital, South Shore Outreach Center. Her husband practices anesthesiology at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
