Dr. William "Butch" Mulherin ('61)
Athens, GA., has retired after 33 years as University of
Georgia Athletic Association physician. He began an orthopedics practice
in Athens in 1966.
Dr. Charles Seman ('62)
Still practicing pediatrics full time. Raises and shows
maltese dogs with his wife, just for fun (not a breeder). Plans on retiring
in a few years (give or take).
Dr. William E. Silver ('63)
who practices facial plastic surgery in Atlanta, has been
named group vice president-elect for public and regulatory affairs of
the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
Dr. Matthew Thomas Howard ('67)
Died August 28, 2000 at age 59. He completed a pediatric
residency at MCG and was appointed to MCG's medical staff in 1972, where
he served on the Pediatric Intensive Care, Utilization Review and Emergency
Room committees. He was past chairman of pediatrics at St. Joseph Hospital
and a member of the original bylaws committee of the CMC and Southern
Perinatal Society. He was an assistant clinical professor at MCG from
1978 to 1996. He was a partner in Tannenbaum and Howard Pediatrics, a
fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and co-founder of the Augusta
Pediatric Clinic, Augusta's first after-hours pediatrics clinic.
Survivors include his wife, Beverly Myers Howard, a son, Matthew Kevin
Howard, and a daughter, Corday Howard Borders.
Dr. Kenneth W. Reeves ('67)
Dr. Ken Reeves has just completed his 27th year of private
practice in cardiology in Augusta, GA. He is married to Brenda Harrison
Reeves. They have 3 children. Eric is an attorney in Richmond, VA. Gretchen
is a part-time accountant and professional mountain bike racer in Boulder,
CO. Mark is a 2nd year student at Vanderbilt Law School.
Dr. Barrett Rosen ('68)
Nashville, Tenn., practices orthopedic surgery and is president
of the Tennessee Medical Association.
Dr. Charles L. Rice ('68)
Has been appointed vice chancellor for health affairs at
the University of Illinois at Chicago. He will continue as professor of
surgery and professor of physiology/biophysics. He has been selected for Who's Who in America and Who's Who in the World.
(2002) Dr. Rice - vice chancellor for health affairs and professor of surgery and physiology/biophysics at the University of Chicago, has been named chairman-elect of the Accrediting Council for Graduate Medical Education, the body that oversees the accreditation of all U.S. residency programs.
Dr. John A. Hardin ('69)
Department chairman of the MCG School of Medicine since
1991, accepted a similar role this year at the Albert Einstein College
of Medicine.

Dr. Allen Beck ('69)
Has lived in the mountain-ski resort of Crested Butte, Colorado
for 12 years and opened the Coal Creek Wellness Center last summer. He
is a regular storyteller in the area, doing several new stories a month
for preschoolers, the library, and other venues.
Dr. Richard W. Noble ('69)
Died of lung cancer Sept. 7. He lived in Portland, OR, and
had a general medical practice with special interest and skill in herbal
medicine.
