2004 Distinguished Alumnus Award Recipient: Octavia Garlington, MS

Ms. Octavia Garlington earned a master's degree in medical illustration from the Medical College of Georgia in 1961 and served on the MCG faculty from 1961 until her retirement in 1990. She received the 2001 Broedel Award fro Excellence in Education from the Association of Medical Illustrators and the 1990 Ranice W. Crosby Distinguished Achievement Award from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine Department of Art as Applied to Medicine. Ms. Garlington is a fellow of the Association of Medical Illustrators and a member of the Association of Medical Illustrators.
