Collaboration with start-up business

Ongoing collaboration between the GRA Telehealth Group (MCG, Georgia State, and Georgia Tech) and a newly formed company (Health-e-Station) has resulted in the grand opening of their first facility on August 18, 2006 in suburban Atlanta (Peachtree City).

A Health-e-Station is a walk-in center, offering after-hours and weekend healthcare for patients with minor medical conditions. For those experiencing illness that is discomforting but not serious, Health-e-Station is the perfect choice for after-hours and weekend care.

Until now, medical treatment outside of regular doctor's hours has been limited to telephone advice from nurses or pharmacists, or late-night trips to a hospital emergency room that can be a costly and time-consuming inconvenience. With Health-e-Station, there is a better option. Using advanced telemedicine technologies, face-to-face computer-facilitated encounters with physicians make healthcare visits with highly qualified physicians readily available.
