Services

Cable TV Service
Basic cable television service is provided (and paid for by students housing rents) in Residences 4, 5, 6 and the Alumni Center.  Comcast has upgraded their facilities in order to expand service offerings to students beyond basic cable to include paid channels.  It is the responsibility of each resident student to choose or not choose to purchase the service.

High-speed internet service is also available.  This, too, is purchased separately from Comcast.  A Comcast representative may be contacted at (706) 832-6904.

Please know that a transaction with Comcast for any service(s) other than basic cable television is strictly an agreement between the student and Comcast.  MCG is not responsible for any aspect of the transaction.

Maintenance
Maintenance services are provided to housing by the Facilities Management Division. Students may report maintenance problems directly to the Office of Residence Life by calling 706-721-3471, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.  After 5:00 p.m., on weekends and on holidays, students may contact emergency maintenance at 706-721-2434.  Students are urged to report maintenance problems promptly to avoid unnecessary inconvenience.

Students are urged not to attempt repairs.  This includes using drain cleaner to unclog a drain.  This may cause further damage, or create a hazardous condition for the facilities management staff who are trained and equipped to make all repairs.  Additional charges that are required as a result of a student attempt to make a repair will be billed to the student.
