Important Dates

Summer 2010 STAR Program

Mid November 2009: On-line applications available

 

February 5, 2010: Application Deadline

April 2010: Applicants will be notified of the STAR committee's decision.

May 17 - July 16, 2010: 2010 Summer STAR session

 

Application Requirements

The following items must be received in the STAR office before an application is considered complete and eligible for consideration by the STAR committee for review:

  • Student application:  completed and submitted by the applicant

  • Official college transcript(s); requested by the applicant and sent directly to the STAR office from the applicant's school /Office of the Registrar

  • Two letters of recommendation with accompanying STAR Recommendation Forms requested by the applicant and sent directly to the STAR office by each referee.  Referees should be individuals qualified to assess your academic and/or research experience, qualifications and potential, as applicable.  It is advisable to obtain at least one reference from one of your college science professors.  You can submit more than 2 references if desired.

Official transcripts and letters of recommendation/recommendation forms should be mailed directly to:

The STAR application will be unavailable from 1:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time

and occasionally on Tuesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. 

We apologize for any inconvenience and encourage you to complete and submit

your STAR application during times when the STAR application is accessible.

*Always keep a copy of your completed application and forms for your records.*
