Message from the Chief Resident:
Welcome to MCG’s Division of Child, Adolescent, and Family Psychiatry! I completed my internship and residency at MCG, and I am now chief resident of MCG’s Child and Adolescent Psychiatry program. This program offers an excellent opportunity to learn from outstanding attendings with much one-on-one attention. The attendings are approachable and available virtually all of the time. The didactics are well organized and provide a very well rounded knowledge base. The division is very supportive of tailoring educational opportunities to your particular interest. There are also many opportunities to become involved with attendings’ research or to develop your own research. You will find staff members very encouraging and helpful as well, truly implementing a team approach to patient care. There are many opportunities to participate or even become a leader in professional organizations such as the Georgia Psychiatric Physicians Associations, NAMI, American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and committees within MCG. We have a great group of fellows who are friendly, easy to get along with, and glad to welcome you. Come and see for yourself the warm, educational atmosphere of our division. I look forward to meeting you.
Mike Ellis, MD
