Welcome to the Medical College of Georgia!  I just wanted to take the time to mention that at MCG we have a wide variety of experiences, attendings and support staff that will enhance and help shape your career goals.  My story is one where I came to MCG with an interest in affective disorders and psychosis and over the past three years have developed a real affinity for child and adolescent psychiatry.  During this transition I was able to be apart of two papers, a co-investigator on a pharmaceutical trial and in the next year I am planning to start some academic work with children. 

Even though it may all seem academic I and all the residents do manage to have fun as well as give back to our community.  Some residents give back through providing local support to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, others through project GREAT and a few are active with medical missions.  Augusta has plenty to offer residents who are single, married and/or have children in terms of  local lakes, parks, places to hang out and proximity to other cities.  Come and take a look at what our city and academic institution has to offer and I look forward to meeting you.
