The Journal will accept original papers, perspective articles, editorials, and clinical case reports. Editorial and review articles are usually invited. Original data papers will receive top priority for speedy publication. Under the Abstract heading of Method, include wherever applicable the study design, setting, patients/participants (selection criteria, description), interventions, observational and analytical methods and main outcome measures. (For review articles it will be important to specify the methods of literature search and selection). Under the Abstract heading of Results, give the most important specific data together with their statistical significance. Manuscripts should be typed with font style Times New Roman, font size 12. Timely references should highlight the study's relevance to current research or clinical practice. References to journal articles and to books illustrate the 'Vancouver' style with journal titles abbreviated as in Index Medicus. The author is responsible to ensure the accuracy and completeness of information contained in the references. Examples of reference style can be located at http://www.nlm.nih.gov/bsd/uniform_requirements.html. Illustrations should be attached to online submission as a JPG file. If permission to reproduce any illustration is needed, it is the responsibility of the author to obtain it. Written notice of permission will need to be included along with the submission. The position of figures and tables in the text should be indicated on the manuscript and cited in order in the text. Arabic numbering should be used for both figures and tables. Legends for illustrations should be printed on a separate sheet and included at the end of the manuscript. A legend must accompany each illustration. Please provide the first and last name, the email address and the Institution of the reviewer suggested. All papers are subject to peer review by a Review Editor (member of the Editorial Board of Review Editors) the Editor, and/or one to three invited referees. Authors may suggest up to four, and disqualify two, potential referees. The Journal will exercise independent discretion as to whether to solicit these reviewers or to seek alternative assessors to review the manuscript. Assessments will be sent to the corresponding author usually within six weeks. Where revisions are sought prior to publication, authors are advised to return their revision by email with the revised text and cover letter incorporating any suggestions which they agree would improve their paper. The cover letter should respond to each comment, numbered, of each assessor, indicating where the revision deals with it, or why the authors disagree or cannot incorporate it. Each assessor will then receive the authors' revision, cover letter and the previous comments of the other assessors. After the assessors' further comments have been received, the editor will make the final decision, including priority and time of publication and the right to style and if necessary shorten material for publication. At time of acceptance for publication, it will be the corresponding author's responsibility to complete the required authorship and copyright transfer forms. These must be returned to the editorial office. Manuscripts will not be published unless all these forms are complete and in order. Once a manuscript is accepted for publication, the corresponding author can anticipate receiving pre-proofs from the publication office. It is essential that these pre-proofs be carefully reviewed and then sent back directly to the publication office within 7 days of receipt. Failure to return the pre-proofs in a timely manner could jeopardize the timing and ultimately the opportunity to publish this work in the Journal of Dual Diagnosis. The corresponding author will also be requested to notify the editorial office of any change in address. Editorial Office Contact Information Editor: |
