Anatomic Pathology: The Section of Anatomic Pathology at the Medical College of Georgia Hospital and the Pathology and Laboratory Medicine Service at the VA Medical Center (VAMC) have services in autopsy pathology, cytopathology, and surgical pathology and are supported by laboratories of histology, electron microscopy and cytology. In the Section of Anatomic Pathology at the MCG Hospital, there are also laboratories for immunopathology and infectious disease pathology, flow cytometry and cancer cytogenetics. The core educational program for the resident includes rotations in the three services and subspecialty areas and laboratories for a total of 18 months. During the fourth flexible year, the resident can choose from a number of advanced level rotations in selected subspecialty areas in anatomic pathology.
