Postdoctoral Fellow  (posted 30 May 2007)
Applications are now being accepted for a postdoctoral fellow position to study spreading depolarizations and associated neuronal and glial damage during stroke and traumatic brain injury.  The Medical College of Georgia is a premier research university located in beautiful Augusta, Georgia.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree from an accredited university.  Experience in whole-cell patch clamp recordings is required.  Familiarity with two-photon laser scanning microscopy, live imaging, models of stroke and traumatic brain injury are a plus.  Excellent oral and written communication skills in English are essential.  Competency is expected in using MS Office, Adobe Photoshop, statistical software and web-based tools.  Highly motivated individuals with creative problem solving capabilities and paying attention to detail are preferred.  Ability to work independently as well as in a cooperative manner with the supervisor to develop, organize and complete research projects is expected.
