Women In Medicine

To ensure the success of all participants by:

  • Identifying the needs of each individual participant
  • Identifying the common needs of participants and developing formal instruction in these areas
  • Recognizing both common and uncommon needs and developing a formal network to deal with these needs

      Our Tenet:

  • It is likely that one of us knows, for example:

  • Recent seminars on
    Private practice contract negotiation
    Faculty development
  • If one of us does not know, we likely know someone who does
Planned speakers renowned in National seminars on coping

    The Needs Identified Thus Far:
  • Mentoring
  • Faculty Development
  • Research experience
  • Community Service
  • Coping -At senior and junior faculty levels as well as fellowship and house staff levels

    What you should know:
  • To ensure ongoing support of this effort, we will monitor our progress
-Services requested, attempts to fill requests, and success at filling requests will be tracked
  • If you have expertise, you will be asked to share
-You will be asked to assist another participant in meeting her need if it falls within your area of expertise
  • As agreed on by the group

  • The Bottom Line:

  1. Each meeting will be dedicated to meeting a specific need  with very brief formal instruction

  2. Many participants have expressed a desire just to network
  3. If the formal presentation is not your issue, please just hang out and have a good time
  4. We do not intend this to be a club or an ongoing commitment for our participants, you don't have to come to every meeting
  5. However, if we are presenting your issue please come, or if this is not your issue but you have a solution , please come
  6. We strongly believe that all of our participants have something to offer and we welcome the input.
