Rheumatology and Adult Allergy Fellowship Program

The Rheumatology Fellowship offered at the Medical College of Georgia is a two-year fellowship. Fellows will have adequate exposure to the most common routine and complex rheumatologic problems to ensure comfort in the daily practice of rheumatology. The first year of the fellowship is heavily clinical with responsibilities divided among outpatient clinical services and inpatient consults, both at MCG hospital and clinics and VA Medical Center, Augusta. In addition to continue clinical responsibilities the second year affords opportunity for research, basic science, or clinical. However, a research project can begin during the first year with the approval of the program director. By the completion of this two-year fellowship it is expected that the graduating fellow will have completed an academic project as expected by the Rheumatology RRC and sit for and successfully complete the ABIM certification exam leading to board certification in Rheumatology. Currently, two fellows are enrolled, one per year.
