Pulmonary Vascular Disease

Introduction
The Pulmonary Vascular Disease Program at the Medical College of Georgia is a multidisciplinary program that manages all types of diseases that affect the pulmonary blood vessels. These include pulmonary hypertension (PH) of all causes, pulmonary embolism (PE), pulmonary arteriovenous malformations (PAVM)  and hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT). The program is directed by Dr. James R. Gossage, who has been managing patients with pulmonary vascular disease for over 16 years. The program also includes a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, and support staff that allows us to manage even the most complex patient.

Philosophy
Our primary missions are to provide excellent patient care and education, and to promote further understanding of pulmonary vascular diseases through research. We make the following commitments to each patient we see:

We will give you the best possible treatment
We will treat you with respect and compassion
We will educate you fully about your condition and its             treatment
We will be honest with you about your condition and its prognosis
We will return your calls in a timely fashion
We will communicate with your referring physician in a timely fashion

James R. Gossage, MD is director of the Pulmonary Vascular Disease program. He received his MD degree in 1984 and did a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Vanderbilt University from 1988-1991. He has treated patients with pulmonary vascular diseases for over 16 years and has been involved in research for 15 years.
