Pulmonary Hypertension Staff

James R. Gossage, MD
Dr. Gossage is director of the Pulmonary Hypertension program.  He received his MD degree in 1984 and did a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Vanderbilt University from 1988-1991.  He has treated patients with PH for over 16 years and has been involved in PH research for 15 years.  He is skilled in
right heart catheterization (link to cath in section a.i.5.) and has performed over 1000 in the past 20 years. 

 

Melissa James, RN
Melissa James is the research nurse specialist for PH.  She received her RN degree in 1993 and had 5 years of experience in critical care nursing before joining the PH program in 2003.
