To provide quality sub-specialty care with easy, patient friendly access, and to provide a broad spectrum of services including nutritional, hepatologic, & GI consultative care and endoscopic services.

provide educational services to the schools of medicine and allied health
and to the residents and faculty of MCG as well as to the inhabitants of the
state through community out reach and to the physicians in the region
through continuing medical education.
To promote investigation within the fields of gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition.
To participate in services to the community through programs such as minority recruitment, and through participation in community health programs and provision of CME activities.
To foster the further education and personal growth of the members of the section to facilitate their future success.
