Hospitalist Program

The Hospitalist Medicine Program at the Medical College of Georgia was created for the purpose of improving the efficiency of patient care at MCG while enhancing the educational experience for the residents and students on general inpatient services.  They are responsible for taking care of patients admitted to the Internal Medicine service overnight as well as taking overflow from the resident teams when patient volume is high.

The Hospitalist Medicine Program has also developed an academic program.  Residents interested in a career in Hospitalist Medicine are able to take electives working with the hospitalist physicians at the Medical College of Georgia.  This provides the residents an opportunity to experience the daily practice of Hospitalist Medicine under the instruction of clinical faculty on the Hospitalist team.
