When an image is printed from a computer, it needs to be a certain size or it will appear 'pixelated' or grainy. This is why journals often require that images you send are at least 300 DPI (Dots Per Inch). To learn more about how to find out what size your document is, please take a look at "Is this Image Big Enough?".
It is important to note that an image cannot be enlarged without becoming pixelated. If you find that your image is not large enough, you should verify that you have the original file (which will be the largest). If you do not and the image is too small, you should consider if there is a way to recapture the same image again using a better camera, etc.
