Ablation catheter approaching a pulmonary vein

AVNRT

Approximately 20-25% of normal individuals possess unique heart tissue electrical properties which allow for this common arrhythmia to occur in the normal heart.  This represents the most common supraventricular tachycardia aside from atrial fibrillation in the United States.  Ablation is used to target a portion of this specialized tissue which then renders the heart unable to sustain this arrhythmia.
