If you have had heart problems before, you know how scary that can be. What you may not know is that you can feel healthy, strong and safe again. Take control of your health and ask your physician for a referral to the Cardiac Rehabilitation program at MCG Cardiovascular Center.
Cardiac Rehabilitation is a customized program of exercise and education designed to improve strength and flexibility in order to meet the strain of daily activities. The goals of cardiac rehabilitation are to help you regain strength, to prevent your condition from worsening and to reduce your risk of future heart problems.
If you are adjusting to life after a heart attack or you are living with certain other heart diseases, cardiac rehabilitation may help you feel better than you thought was possible. Our program includes:
Anyone who has undergone open heart surgery, coronary angioplasty or stent, valve replacement or repair, heart transplant or has been diagnosed with stable angina or a heart attack within the past year. Participants will enjoy the safety of a medically supervised program and the personal attention of trained experts.
Medicare and many other insurance companies may cover most of the cost of cardiac rehabilitation. We encourage you to check with your insurance carrier to obtain coverage information before enrolling in one of our programs.
A doctor's referral is required to enter Cardiac Rehabilitation. Contact your doctor to ask for a referral or ask one of our staff members to contact your doctor directly. We can be reached at 706-721-9055.
