Study Guides

The study guides for the Family Medicine Clerkship have been developed to assist you in gaining the most benefit from your ambulatory patient encounters. The objectives have been developed as a result of reviewing patient problems seen most frequently by previous students. They also address medical issues which are of significant concern to society and family practice.

These learning objectives do not encompass all of family practice nor do they encompass all of which you should hope to gain from this rotation. Rather, they are intended to be a useful instructional tool for stimulation of reading and discussion with faculty, residents and fellow students about patient encounters. The majority of the objectives can be covered through discussion of patient cases during scheduled or impromptu rounds, problem solving sessions or during patient encounters.
