Student Evaluation The students are to be evaluated using two different methods. First, the student's clinical performance will be judged based on the completion of the clerkship requirements using a mid-term evaluation form and a final evaluation form especially designed for this purpose. The evaluation form will be completed by the faculty member who has had the most contact with the student and who has observed his/her performance in relation to the stated goals and objectives of the course. This evaluation represents 70 percent of the student's final grade. Second, the student's knowledge of diagnostic problems seen in Family Medicine will be measured by 2 clinical case problem essay exams (grade is included in the faculty attending 70 percent) and a multiple choice examination (National Board Shelf Exam) which accounts for the remaining 30 percent. The students receive a comprehensive summary of their performance at the end of the rotation. |
