Obesity



1. Define obesity.

2. List seven health risks or health problems associated with obesity.

3. List physiologic conditions or drugs which may contribute to obesity and compare their frequency to that of obesity due to excess caloric intake.

4. Discuss current theories regarding the contribution of genetic and psychologic factors to obesity.

5. Describe components of a sound weight loss plan.

6. List and explain why certain weight loss practices should be discouraged.

7. List the caloric deficit necessary for the loss of one pound.
