Months Offered:          July through June

Goal:  To provide the student with the ability to pursue special educational activities with family medicine preceptors, residencies, or faculty.

Objectives:  At the end of this elective, the student will have had the opportunity to:

  • Develop a special educational course in patient care, research, psychosocial aspects of medicine, drug dependency, family therapy and/or other issues related to the provision of health care to families.

Assessment:  Clinical performance evaluation by faculty is based on student’s performance in the areas of:  patient care, medical knowledge, practice based learning and improvement, professionalism, interpersonal and communication skills and systems based learning.
