Student Admissions CommitteeGeoffreyYoung, Chairman Composition b. The faculty members, community member and students shall be appointed to serve for three years on a rotating basis (terms of office will not expire simultaneously). Other members of the committee shall be selected annually or will serve in an ex-officio capacity. c. With the advice of the chairman, the Dean will appoint the following to the committee: an alumnus (private practice), a second year medical student and a community member. The community member shall be a person having no direct affiliation with the Medical College of Georgia or the medical profession. Function b. The committee shall consider appropriate measures to attract students from diverse social and cultural backgrounds. c. The members shall participate in activities related to recruitment, including visiting colleges and universities to confer with premedical advisors and with students concerning admissions requirements, qualifications and preparation for entrance.
