The Nanaimo Regional General Hospital will offer an elective for students that includes the following:
The elective period may be of variable length but usually lasts four to eight weeks. The elective will be divided into periods of experience in General Practice, the Hospital Emergency Department and in any if the above listed subjects desired by the applicant. The student will be expected to make hospital rounds with the physicians they are attached to and also spend time with them in their offices during consultation hours and be available for some emergency call.
Accommodations will be provided by the hospital.
One student may be accepted in each elective period.
