OBGYN Interest Group 

Greetings!

The OBGYN interest group is run for first and second year medical students, with assistance from MCG’s OBGYN department, to provide various services to promote interest in the field of obstetrics and gynecology. 

After dissolving for several years, the interest group was reconstituted in February of 2006.  During the 2007-08 academic year, we are hoping to continue this interest group as one of the most organized and intriguing for our members.  Several changes are being made; the first being this web page.  On this site, we are planning to keep contact information of physicians willing to have students shadow them, so those interested in learning about a specific specialty may easily set up a time with the doctor representing that field.  Additionally we will be maintaining an up-to-date schedule of our lunch meetings with location, time, speaker, and topic.  Another new feature is the link to ACOG (American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology) and information about residency programs. 

Our hope is that by providing these new, easily accessible services, students will be able to nourish their own curiosities to better prepare themselves for making residency decisions.
