Welcome to the Medicine Clerkship! The next 8 weeks will form the cornerstone for much of your medical career, regardless of what specialty you ultimately choose. The emphasis of this clerkship is on acquisition of knowledge, skills, attitudes and behaviors that form the core of internal medicine and are essential for the education of all physicians. The overall goal is to provide students with a solid foundation in the comprehensive health care of adults.

The settings for the ambulatory rotations include the general medicine practices at MCG and the VAMC in Augusta and community-based sites across the state.  Inpatient experiences are available at MCG Hospital, the Augusta VA Medical Center, Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Martin Army Community Hospital, and Atlanta Medical Center.

All of us in the Department of Medicine look forward to working with you and to helping you both during your rotation and in the future.
