General Weekly Schedule

  1. You should see your patients (and their charts) each morning before work rounds.
  2. Work Rounds: Usually being at 7:00 a.m. (time set by individual teams). Housestaff and students review current status of each patient, and formulate plans for the day. You should present patients you are following, know all lab and X-ray data on your patients, and be prepared to interpret the available information. Your attending may or may not be present on work rounds.
  3. Attending Rounds: You should do initial and follow-up presentations on all patients you are following. You should read in a standard medical text about each of your patient's problems, as well as about each medication the patient is receiving.
