Collins Lodge & Conference Center
Clarkesville, GA
Students participating in rotations in the Northeast Georgia area will be housed at Collins Lodge on the campus of North Georgia Technical College in Clarkesville, GA. It is centrally located to Clayton, Toccoa and Demorest, Georgia. The Lodge contains 60+ dorm style rooms, each with twin beds. The Lodge provides a laundry area stocked with detergent and a kitchen is provided. When school is in session, meals are available on a pay-by-meal basis at the Ramsey-Hunter Dining Hall, which is immediately adjacent to the Lodge. Fitness and recreational activities are available in the Fitness/Student Center to those who stay at Collins Lodge.
The campus is located on Hwy. 197 North in Clarkesville, GA. Prior to the first day of your rotation, you should contact Tiffany Scroggs, Collins Lodge and Conference Coordinator, to make arrangements for housing check-in. Directions to North Georgia Technical College Collins Lodge & Conference Center from Atlanta: Travel I-85 north to Interstate 985 north. Travel 985 north (turns into Hwy. 365 north just past the Gainesville exit). Travel Hwy 365N approximately 25 miles to "Clarkesville/Mt. Airy" exit (on right). Take Clarkesville/Mt. Airy exit. At end of exit ramp, turn left onto Hwy 197N toward Clarkesville. Travel four miles to Clarkesville. Go through four way stop (Stoney's Restaurant will be on left). Go through three traffic lights (past Huddle House, McDonalds, Community Bank and Trust, and Clarkesville Square). Just past 3rd traffic light there will be a sharp right curve. Immediately after sharp curve turn left onto Hwy. 197N. Travel 2 miles north on Hwy 197. North Georgia Tech will be on your right. Turn right at the 3rd entrance to the campus (look for Collins Lodge & Conference Center sign). Make an immediate left turn and go past the Ramsey Hunter Dining Hall. Collins Lodge is just past the Dining Hall on your right.
Directions from North Georgia Technical College Collins Lodge & Conference Center to Toccoa Clinic: From North GA Tech, turn left onto Hwy 197 and follow approximately 1.5-2 miles. At the junction with 441/385 (Grant St./stop sign) turn right and follow through downtown Clarkesville. continue along 441/385 to four way stop - turn left at stop sign onto Hwy 17 (sign for Toccoa will direct you). Follow 17 south for 5.5 miles and then turn left on 365/123 N (Currahee Street). Travel along Currahee Street for approximately 4.1 miles and turn left onto Big A Road. Toccoa Clinic will be immediately on your left.
