Preceptor Letter to Students
We’re excited to know that you will be coming to southwest Georgia for part
of your clinical training. Should you have any problems while here, feel free to
contact any of the Area Health Education Center Staff.
Check In:
On the first day of your rotation in Albany you
are to report to the SOWEGA AHEC Office located at 1512 West Third Avenue in
Albany. Please arrive no later than 8:15 AM. You will be completing
paperwork for hospital credentialing.
Each student is required to get a badge from Phoebe Employment, located at 910 North
Jefferson Street on the first day of clinical. Also, each student is required to
attend a JCAHO Orientation. The date and time will be provided in your housing
packet.
Directions to the SOWEGA AHEC from Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital -
the SOWEGA AHEC is located minutes from the
hospital campus. Take 3rd Avenue from the hospital for approximately 3
miles and the SOWEGA AHEC is located on the left side of the street. The
address is 1512 West Third Avenue.
Check Out: At
the end of your rotation, you are to return your keys and badge to the SOWEGA-AHEC
Office. Call if that is a problem. Grades will be held until all items are
returned.
