What to do before your scheduled rotation: Please take the time to print and complete all of the necessary documentation no later than one week prior to your rotation. Failure to complete your paperwork in time could delay the start of your rotation. All forms must be faxed or emailed to Michelle Evans at the Blue Ridge AHEC at 706-378-3113. Identification badges are obtained in Security Services at WellStar Kennestone Hospital Emergency Room or WellStar Cobb Hospital Emergency Room. Please contact Jackie Hayes at (770) 792-5331 should you have any questions regarding the WellStar student forms. You are expected at your preceptor's office by 9:00 AM the next day. You will need to obtain your WellStar badge on the afternoon you arrive or before reporting to your preceptor’s office the next day. Rotation Information: This is a multi physician practice, and Dr. Rodriguez as the lead faculty will be assigning your grade. Dr Schuh is the other MCG faculty who will have input on your grade. You will work with both physicians on a rotating basis. You are expected to do hospital rounds each morning with the assigned physician or nurse practitioner. You will see patients in the office according to the schedule given on your first day. Toward the middle of your rotation, you will have the opportunity to see selected patients and present them to the staff. Saturday and Sunday you may round with the MD on call if you want to. Please schedule ahead. There is no overnight call. Please be on time and keep each preceptor aware of your learning needs. They will do their best to see that you get the experiences you desire. The patient population includes a large Spanish speaking group. If any student is particularly interested in this culture and/or utilizing or expanding Spanish speaking skills, they are encouraged to rotate here. Your grades will be held until keys are returned. Please call to make arrangements.
