If you will be in need of the AHEC housing for this rotation you must
contact the Whitney Willis at the Foothills AHEC as soon as possible to make the
necessary arrangements. Housing is provided to students on a first come -
first serve basis.
Toccoa Housing Information
Directions to Toccoa Clinic from the Augusta Area:
Take Interstate 20 west to the Washington/Thomson
exit. Turn right on Highway 78 north. In Washington take GA Highway
17 north. Highway 17 north will take you straight into Toccoa. You
will travel through several small towns - Elberton, Royston, Lavonia, and
Avalon. When driving into Toccoa (Business Highway 17/Big A Road) you will
pass a movie theater, Chevrolet dealer, Belk/Ingles shopping center, Wendy's,
etc. there will be several traffic lights. Just before the road
merges from four lanes into two it will become Doyle Street. There is a
large shopping center on the left and the Toccoa Clinic/Foothills Center is
located in the shopping center. Dr. Meadows' office is located at the far
right end of the Foothills Center. Parking is available in front of the
building.
Rotation Information and Check In:
Lisa Moon will orient you to the Toccoa Clinic. Prior to the beginning of your rotation, you should contact
Lisa Moon.Students traveling Monday AM are to report to the office at 1:30 PM, and
students traveling Monday PM should report to the office on Tuesday at 9:00 AM.
You will be working with both Dr. Meadows and Dr. Fernandez as well as nurse midwives and nurse practitioners. Call varies during the rotation (weekday and weekend).
