We’re excited to know that you will be coming
to Southwest Georgia for part of your clinical training. Should you have any
problems while here, feel free to contact any of the Area Health Education
Center staff.
Check In:
On the first day of your rotation in Albany you
are to report to Dr. Alan Brown in Suite 500 of the Phoebe Medical Tower at 7:45
AM.
You will need to come by the SOWEGA AHEC Office in order to complete necessary paperwork pertaining to
your clinical rotation in Albany.
Directions to Phoebe Putney
Memorial Hospital from Interstate I-75 South (from Atlanta) -
take Exit 99 (Georgia Hwy. 300) to Albany.
At the first traffic light turn onto Clark Avenue. Proceed 1.5 miles and
turn right on the Liberty Expressway (Hwy. 19 North). Proceed to the
Jefferson Street Exit. Take the Jefferson Street South Exit. You
will see a hospital sigh at that exit. Proceed on Jefferson Street through
several traffic lights. You will pass a sign for the Emergency Center
Entrance on your right. At the next intersection you will see the
hospital's main entrance on your right.
Directions to
the SOWEGA AHEC from Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital -
the SOWEGA AHEC is located minutes from the hospital campus. Take 3rd Avenue
from the hospital for approximately 3 miles. The SOWEGA AHEC office is located
on the left side of the street at 1512 West Third Avenue.

Check Out: At
the end of your rotation, you are to return your keys and badge to the SOWEGA-AHEC
Office. Call if that is a problem. Grades will be held until all items are
returned.
