Welcome to the Three Rivers AHEC
region of west central Georgia. We are pleased to have been instrumental in
establishing this training site for the Medical College of Georgia and look
forward to your arrival for clinical training. We will strive to make your
clinical experience and visit to Covington as fulfilling as possible.
Rotation Information: Students are required to attend an orientation session at Newton Medical that lasts approximately one hour. Newton Medical Center requires all students to supply a copy of a current urine drug screen, background check, and immunization (PPD). Students must obtain a NMC temporary name badge and parking sticker to be used while they are on rotation in Covington.
Directions from Augusta: Take Intestate
20 towards Atlanta. Covington is approximately 120 miles from Augusta.
Take Exit 93 for Covington/Oxford and turn left onto State Road 142. Go
approximately one mile and turn and turn right at the traffic light onto US 278.
Get into the left lane immediately and take the second left onto Floyd Street.
At the library, take the fork to the right onto Newton Drive. Newton
Medical is on the right.
Check In: You will check in with Monisa
Moore upon arrival in Covington.
Housing Information
Check Out: Please check out with Three Rivers AHEC via phone or email on your last day. Grades will be held until all keys and borrowed items are returned.
