Welcome to the Three
Rivers AHEC region of west central Georgia. We are pleased to have been
instrumental in establishing this training site for the Medical College of
Georgia and look forward to your arrival for clinical training. We will strive
to make your clinical experience and visit to Covington as fulfilling as
possible.
Rotation Information: Students are required to attend an orientation session at Newton Medical that lasts approximately one hour. Newton Medical Center requires all students to supply a copy of a current urine drug screen, background check, and immunization (PPD). Students must obtain a NMC temporary name badge and parking sticker to be used while they are on rotation in Covington.
Directions from Augusta: Take Interstate
20 West toward Atlanta. Covington is approximately 120 miles from Augusta.
Take Exit 93 to Covington/Oxford via State Road 142. Turn left off of the
exit ramp and go one mile to the next traffic light. Turn right onto US
278 west and continue for about one mile. Newton General Hospital will be
on the left. Turn left at Hospital Drive and turn right into the first
parking lot. Dr. Stillerman's office is on the fourth floor of the medical
office building just to the right of the hospital.
Check Out: Please check out with Three Rivers AHEC via phone or email on your last day. Grades will be held until all keys and borrowed items are returned. We will make an effort to visit you at some point during your rotation. At that time there is a required form to complete.
We are delighted that you have chosen to perform one of your clinical rotations in our area and hope that you will consider the Three Rivers region for future employment.
