Name:

Keith Beckman

Mentor:

Paul McNeil, Ph.D.

Year of Entry:

2007

Education:

B.S., Pensacola Christian College

Paragraph Describing Interests:

"I'm working with Dr. Paul McNeil on the mechanistic aspects of sarcoplasmal membrane disruption repair. My two major areas of interest are differences in muscle fibre resealing capability between various fibre types and ages, and protein components in the resealing pathway. I use an old/young rat exercise model for the fibre type comparisons, and a mesodermal GFP Drosophila line in a genetic screen for membrane repair-associate proteins."
