Pediatric Anesthesia

The Children’s Medical Center (CMC), part of the MCG Healthcare System, is the only children’s hospital in the CSRA. The facility, which opened in 1997, is one of the largest pediatric facilities in the US. Our division provides coverage for 6,000 cases per year which are performed in the eight operating rooms as well as at locations outside the surgical suites. 

Our division consists of faculty, certified registered nurse anesthetists, anesthesiology residents, and anesthesia technicians. This team provides anesthesia care to children. Our goal is to provide the highest standard of care, safety, and efficiency.

We also value research and education and develop our team towards these goals. Working in tandem with surgeons or on an individual basis with patients, pediatric anesthesiologists strive to relieve pain, ease healing, and promote patient comfort. We provide pediatric anesthesia for all children, both those who are healthy and those with complex illnesses. We also offer care for children with complex cardiac disease in the operating room, cardiac catheterization lab and for electrophysiological and diagnostic procedures requiring general anesthesia.
