Chapter 7   Pre-doctoral Clinical Competencies

7-1. Competencies

Clinical competencies are the skills and knowledge derived from the training, education and experiences which are required to provide quality patient care. Graduates of the Medical College of Georgia will possess the clinical competencies of a novice dentist capable of providing the clinical procedures outlined in this document. Throughout this document, all treatment activities refer to children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients, unless otherwise stated. Stated clinical competencies are a requirement of the American Dental Association Accreditation Standard 5.3.
