How to Contact IT
Email ITService@mcg.edu
Best option for everything but badge issues (which may be resolved better over the phone)
Subject line: axium - key words for problem (e.g., axium - restore teeth)
Body of Email:
.... .Patient’s Last Name, First Name (Chart Number)
.... .Describe problem, time it occured, and/or required solution
.... .Your name, office or operatory number, phone number
Keep this email and use the case ID (tracking number) for further interactions with IT on this problem.
Call IT at 1-4000
Best option for badge issues.
Be prepared to provide the above information.
Be sure to get and write down the case ID.
Contact Susan Kinney or Shawn Parham (who are NOT IT) for other AxiUm issues
All emergency issues will have an IT focus and should be directed to them. Susan is in the computer lab 7 am to 3:30 pm and can be reached quickly by calling (1-6776), emailing, or dropping by if face-to-face resolution is required. Shawn can be reached most quickly through email.
GroupWise Password Changes(Instructions PDF 8/6/07)
Once you receive an email notification that your netID is about to expire, click on the link on your notification email or go to webaccess.mcg.edu/gw/webacc to change your password.
Your password must be between 8 and 10 characters (no periods or slashes) and include at least one number. Read here www.mcg.edu/itss/Help/security/passwords.htm for more instructions on good and bad passwords. Be prepared to answer a bunch of questions like your mother's maiden name.
Change your password on the first notification as Axium does not allow a grace period for you to continue to work. Once your password expires, you will become locked out of all systems, and you will need to contact the help desk at 721-4000 to have your account reset.
GroupWise Account Information Changes (Names, Phone, Office)
Email Human Resources Employment Processing at HUMANRESOURCES_PROCESSING@mail.mcg.edu
NetID Changes(stuff about you in the HR database)
Go to PeopleSoft and follow the instructions in this document: Updating Your NetID (PDF 8/6/07)
New Staff and Faculty
To set up groupwise for the first time,
Go to eGuide to pull up account and see login ID. Say Yes about six times when it gives you repeated warnings about loading a certificate. Make sure you are in the system.
Go to My MCG - Groupwise and login with your login ID and default password (the first letter of your last name and your social security number).
Click on Options (top right corner).
Click on Password. Change password. Your password must be between 8 and 10 characters (no periods or slashes) and include at least one number. Choose something you can remember.
Head out the south door of SOD and go across Laney Walker to the ID Badging office in the Student Center to activate your card. You must have this form http://www.mcg.edu/psd/Forms/NewHireBadgeFrm.pdf and I think Darnell Taylor has to sign it.
New Faculty
Log into axiUm on any pc in the clinics where you will be working (do this in all clinics). Log it both by swiping your card and by manually logging.
Pull up any patient and click on the x-ray icon (this checks your access and sets you up to approve radiographs).
Wireless Network Access
Go to the library for help setting up your wireless access. If a visitor wants access, the libary will provide them with a visitor's pass. The wireless network has spotty connections in the SOD and we don't rely on it.
