In order to accomplish the above, the Environmental Health and Occupational Safety Office provides the following services: 1. chemical spill response and clean up 2. chemical area placarding 3. laboratory safety auditing 4. chemical inventory of all laboratories and chemical storage facilities 5. chemical safety standard operating procedures maintenance 6. maintenance of computerized chemical listing containing DOT and waste hazard classifications and other chemical hazard information 7. hazardous waste tracking 8. hazardous waste disposal record maintenance 9. chemical exchange, waste collection, and disposal For more information on Chemical Safety. The Right to Know Program is designed to provide employee protection and to comply with State regulations to inform employees of the possible hazards associated with chemicals with which they work. It acts as a resource to provide information about chemicals or commercial products employees handle or to which they are exposed. It also provides information and support for personal protection. In order to accomplish the above, the Right to Know Office provides the following services: 1. coordinate chemical safety management for MCG 2. employee / student orientation and training in all hazardous materials 3. consumer product safety information 4. area evaluation / risk assessment 5. Material Safety Data Sheets and labeling system 6. preliminary resolution on employees’ chemical safety problems For more information on Right-To-Know or Chemical Specific RTK Training.
