Frequently Asked Questions

Is the State Charitable Contributions Program the same as Team MCG?

The TEAM MCG Campaign allows the MCG community to direct financial donations to the MCG Health System, Children's Medical Center or the Schools of Allied Health Sciences, Dentistry, Graduate Studies, Medicine or Nursing. Payroll deduction for TEAM MCG (deduction begins in July) is separate from the State Charitable Contributions Campaign. Payroll deductions for the State Charitable Contributions Program (deduction begins in January) benefit local and national independent or federated charitable organizations.   Time Frame:  February – March of each year

Can I choose a specific charity for my donation?

Yes. Hundreds of charitable organizations, including local United Way agencies, are included in the campaign. Employees may choose one or more charitable groups to receive donations. If no organization is designated, the contribution will be distributed among all eligible organizations.

How can I give?

Pledge forms are included in the packets delivered to employees and faculty and mailed to retirees. Donations may be made as a payroll deduction or sent by check, money order or cash. Simply write the six-digit code number for the charitable organization of your choice in the space provided.  Donations to charities not listed will be put into the undesignated fund and distributed among all organizations.

If I gave last year and want to continue to give, do I still have to fill out the form?

Yes. Every giver needs to initiate or renew a pledge annually.
