Bonnie A. Dadig, Ed.D., PA-C serves
as Program Director and Chair of the PA Program. She graduated from the
Child Health Associate Program in 1974 then received her Masters at the
University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in 1980 and her Doctorate in
Education from the University of Georgia in 1996. Dr. Dadig coordinates the
Pathology, ENT, Pulmonary and Pediatric Sections of Clinical Medicine I, II
and III. She is the co-coordinator for the Psychosocial II. Bonnie
continues working with the North Carolina Academy and Washington Academy for
their recertification conference held each year.Dr. Dadig’s major role is the overall effective administration of the PA Program's curriculum and departmental budget. She began working in the program in 1984. Dr. Dadig’s areas of clinical interests include pediatrics and family medicine. Her academic pursuits are understanding learning styles, brain dominance and testing. Wendy Paschal is Department Manager for the Physician Assistant Department. Her responsibilities include the direct supervision, hiring, training and evaluation of support staff and the management of departmental, foundation and grant budgets. She has been an MCG employee for 10+ years and has worked in Pediatric Cardiology, Grants and Contracts and IMMAG. Wendy's personal interests include foreign travel, photography, baking, gardening and anything Italian. She also teaches catechism for the sixth graders at her church. Wendy and her husband, Jimmie, have two daughters, April and Samantha. Peggy Jeffcoat is the Admissions Coordinator in the department and also handles all issues with our junior students. Peggy graduated from Flowing Wells High School in Tucson, Arizona. Her background includes sales, and retail operations management in California and Augusta. She worked as a wholesale customer service representative for ten years before being hired by the PA department. Peggy has lived in every Pacific Coast state before moving to Augusta in 1988. She enjoys reading fiction, especially books by Stephen King. She is very artistic, and in her spare time writes poetry, is a published author, designs and creates original arts and crafts, enjoys sewing, cooking and spending time with her husband, adult daughter and grandson. Sara Haddow, MSA, PA-C, is the Director of Graduate Studies for the Physician Assistant Department. She also serves as an instructor and small group leader during the didactic year. Sara graduated from the Physician Assistant Program at the Medical College of Georgia in 1991 and obtained a BSA and MSA from the University of Georgia in 1984 and 1991, respectively. Sara has a long history with the PA Department, having served as a part-time faculty member from 1992-1995 and as clinical faculty from 1995-2000. She rejoined the faculty in November 2000. Her previous PA experience includes working in cardiology, plastic surgery, and as a renal transplant coordinator. Sara’s responsibilities include coordinating graduate studies for
physician assistant students pursuing post-baccalaureate degrees,
coordinating the Nephrology/Urology, Radiology, and Endocrinology sections
of Clinical Medicine, and serving as the departmental representative to the
Faculty Council for the School of Allied Health Sciences. In addition, she
enjoys treating patients in the Family Medicine Center. Laura Lee, MHE, PA-C, serves as Clinical Director and is responsible for
coordinating the didactic junior year. She came to the Medical College of
Georgia as faculty in February 1992. Judith Stallings, MHE, PA‑C, joined the PA Department November 1996. She was previously employed by the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department in the Section of Gynecologic Oncology for 6 years at MCG, and received her BS degree as a Physician Assistant in 1990 at the Medical College of Georgia. She completed her undergraduate studies at Augusta State University. Her current duties include Director of Admissions for the PA department and Clinical Medicine Coordinator for the sections of Gastroenterology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Dermatology and Ophthalmology. She is also responsible for instructing a small group each semester. She serves one‑half day in the Student Health Clinic and also has clinical privileges at the Family Medicine Clinic. In addition, Ms. Stallings has completed a Master of Health Education degree as of May 2003. Donald E. Maner, MHSc, Pharm.D., PA-C
joined the PA department as full-time faculty in August 2002. He is a
licensed Pharmacist in Georgia, having graduated from the University of
Georgia in 1974 with a BS in Pharmacy. He served with the Navy during
Vietnam as a Hospital Corpsman. Dr. Maner received his Master of Health
Science from the University of South Alabama and his Doctor of Pharmacy
degree from the University of Mississippi. He is an inaugural member of
Alpha Eta Honor Society. Don currently practices Correctional Medicine at
local jails and his current duties within the department include teaching
Clinical Pharmacology. Cyndi Watkins joined the
department as Clinical Coordinator in October 2004.
Cyndi handles all issues related to our senior students. She graduated from North Myrtle Beach High School in 1986 and graduated with
an Associate's Degree in Business from Piedmont Technical College in July
2005. Scott A. Martin M.S., Ph.D., PA-C joined the department in July 2006. He was a professor at The University of Georgia for 17 years prior to changing careers to become a PA. He has a B.S. and M.S. from the University of California, Davis and a Ph.D. from Cornell University. In addition, he earned his B.S. from the MCG PA program in 2005. He is a member of Alpha Eta Honor Society and Pi Alpha National Honor Society. Dr. Martin coordinates the genetics course as well as the applied clinical physiology course plus serves as a small group leader. In addition, he teaches cardiovascular physiology in the team taught human physiology course within the School of Allied Health Sciences. Clinical interests include family and emergency medicine. Favorite hobbies include exercise, baseball, guitar, and riding his motorcycle. Carbon Stewart, M.A.R., P.A.-C., joined the faculty on a part-time basis in December 2005. He is responsible for coordinating the Clinical Medicine I course, the Nephrology, Urology, and Laboratory Medicine sections, and is a small group leader. He was an Army medic during Viet Nam and is a graduate of MCG’s first physician assistant class which graduated (Bachelor of Science) in December of 1974. He worked in private practice in General Surgery until 1979 when he joined the Veteran’s Administration Medical center. He worked in primary care initially, and then headed a five member ICU team of PA’s for a year prior to joining the spinal cord injury team when the service opened in 1981. He was chief of the SCI urodynamics and outpatient section prior to his transfer to Urology in 1997. He retired from the VA in 2005. Prior to his current appointment, he was affiliated with the program as clinical faculty since 1979. He received his Master’s in Religion from Liberty University in 2004. Mr. Stewart is a founding member of both the Georgia Association of Physician Assistants (GAPA) and the Veteran’s Affairs Physician Assistant Association (VAPAA); past board member and president of GAPA, and chaired the first GAPA delegation to the AAPA House of Delegates. Mr. Stewart’s clinical interests include surgery, spinal cord injuries, and urology.
Robert G. (Bob) Stowers, M.E.d., PA-C joined the
faculty of the Physician Assistant Department as an Assistant Professor in
2006. He graduated from Berry College in 1976 with a degree in Psychology
and Biology. After graduation from Berry, Bob taught Biology and Chaired
the Science department at Model High School in Rome, Georgia. He graduated
from the Physician Assistant Program at the Medical College of Georgia in
1983. In 1991, Bob had the opportunity to train in microsurgery under Dr.
Robert D. Acland at the Center for Microsurgical Studies at the University
of Louisville in Louisville, Kentucky. He returned to the Medical College
of Georgia and developed a microsurgery laboratory where he taught surgical
residents from 1991 to 2002. Bob earned a Master’s degree in Higher
Education Administration from Troy State University in 2003. He has
practiced clinically for over twenty years in areas of Forensic Psychiatry,
Invasive Cardiology, Plastic Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Urology,
Dermatology and Dermatological Surgery. Bob will be coordinating the
Surgery course, the Behavioral Medicine course, and the Dermatology section
of Clinical Medicine I. Bob lectures to faculty, residents, and students
across the Medical College of Georgia campus and participates in teaching
surgical techniques to students and residents. His clinical interest is in
surgery and in particular dermatologic surgery. He works clinically in the
Dermatology Surgery Clinics teaching suture techniques, flaps, and grafts to
Dermatology residents. Lisa Daitch, MPAS, PA-C, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business from the University of South Carolina in 1985. She obtained a second Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant from the Medical College of Georgia in 1998 and a Masters degree from the University of Nebraska in 2003. She was appointed as clinical faculty in 2004 and joined the PA department as full –time faculty October 2006. Her current duties include Clinical Medicine II course coordinator, section coordinator for Infectious Disease, Hematology and Oncology. She is the faculty advisor for the monthly student run Health Fair. Mrs. Daitch has practiced clinically for the past eight years at MCG in the Hematology/Oncology section with a concentration in sickle cell disease and continues to see patients two mornings a week in the Adult Sickle Cell Center. She has been a study coordinator and sub-investigator on multiple NIH funded research projects and is currently involved in ongoing research at the institution. She has had original research accepted for oral and poster presentation at American Society of Hematology and the Annual Sickle Cell Research Meetings. Her favorite activities are travel, museums, music and spending time with her husband Fred and two children Alexandrea and Bradley. |
