a long tradition of PA education. |
History: Medical College of Georgias PA program received its accreditation in 1973, making it one of the oldest programs in the South. MCGs 179-year-old medical school is the 11th oldest in the United States.
Home-grown faculty: Seven of the ten faculty members at MCG are graduates of the program. Laura Lee, MHE, PA-C, Clinical Director, graduated in 1986, her father is a PA and clinical faculty member of the MCG PA program. The Director of Graduate Studies, Sara Haddow, MSA, PA-C, is a 1991 MCG graduate and she coordinates the masters degree physician assistant students. Judith Stallings, MHE, PA-C, Admissions Director, is a 1990 MCG graduate. Professor Scott Martin, PhD, PA-C is a 2005 MCG Graduate. Carbon Stewart, MAR, PA-C is a 1974 graduate. Robert Stowers, MEd, PA-C is a 1983 MCG graduate. Lisa Daitch, MPA, PA-C is a 1998 MCG graduate. Bonnie Dadig, EdD, PA-C, PA Program Director, is a graduate of the University of Colorado Child Health Associate Program in Denver. Donald Maner, PharmD, PA-C was one of the first graduates from the University of South Alabama in 1999, and has been instrumental in developing the pharmacotherapeutics curriculum. Patrick Mongan, MD is a graduate of University of Miami, School of Medicine.
