MCG physician assistant student receives scholarship

Ashley Dyson, a Medical College of Georgia physician assistant student, has
been awarded a national 2007 Physician Assistant Foundation scholarship.
The foundation, headquartered in Alexandria, Va., is the philanthropic arm
of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. The $2000 award is given
annually to those with outstanding records of academic achievement combined
with a commitment to community service and quality health care service. Ms.
Dyson graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor's degree in biology from
Wofford College in Spartanburg, S.C. She is the recipient of the Raymond C.
Bard Scholarship, given annually to a student in the MCG School of Allied
Health Sciences, and the School of Allied Health Sciences Alumni Association
Scholarship.
Her volunteer activities include translator and medical assistant at the
Salvation Army's Latino Clinic and volunteer at Christ Church Clinic. She is
a student advocate with HealthSTAT (Health Students Taking Action Together). |
