Tips for Applicants

|
Thank you for your interest in pursuing a rewarding career in Health Information Administration or Public Health. We hope that the information below will assist you in facilitating the submission and tracking of your application in a timely manner.
I sent my application weeks ago, and haven't heard anything yet. The Admissions Office receives and forwards all applications that meet minimum requirements for ALL programs offered at the Medical College of Georgia, including the School of Medicine and Nursing. The pool of applicants is a small part of a very large number. For this reason, YOU will probably want to follow the path of YOUR application once it has been submitted. We suggest that you stay in touch with the admissions office often, starting about one month after you have mailed your application. The personnel in the office can tell you what they have received and what they are missing. Their telephone number is: (706) 721-2725, or email for a speedy reply.
The Admissions Office hasn't received some of my stuff. Call the transcript institutions or reference individuals to see if they have completed the process at their end and mailed the information to MCG.
After transcripts are reviewed, your application is forwarded to DHI for consideration.
How can I tell if I have all the courses that I need to get in to the program(s)?
If I will complete all pre-requisite course work prior to the enrollment, or have all prerequisites already, and meet minimum criteria, will I be guaranteed acceptance to a Department of Health Informatics program?
When will I know if I've been accepted? When your application arrives in the Department of Health Informatics, you will be sent an acknowledgement letter. Appropriate candidates may be DHI Faculty for an interview at any time from January through July.
