GENERAL ADMISSIONS REQUIREMENTS

 

Admission is based on the applicant’s prior academic performance at the college level and on an assessment of the applicant’s motivation and personal qualities needed to successfully complete the program.

 

Prior to enrollment, the applicant must have completed 60 semester hours of Course Prerequisites at another accredited college or university.
A grade point average of at least 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) on previous college work is required for consideration.
Two letters of recommendation are required.
Eight hours of professional job shadowing are required.
A math & science grade point average of at least 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale) on previous college work is recommended.
An interview with the diagnostic medical sonography admissions committee is required for acceptance; however, not every applicant will qualify for an interview.
Completion of the Health Occupations Basic Entry Test, the HOBET, is required to schedule an interview if invited.
Applicants whose first language is not English must submit official TOEFL scores. A minimum score of 213 on the computer-based exam or 550 on the paper exam is required for admission consideration.

Completed applications for admission are required by March 1, but may continue to be processed until the class has been filled depending on space availability.
